Holocaust TV Series Dvd

I've just bought and watched this because it's taken so long to get onto Pal Dvd.
I totally agree that the absence of extras and subtitles is disgraceful. That's only
part of my complaint. The picture quality is absolutely and utterly pathetic, I own
the vhs tapes on this series, I was delighted to see it released on dvd at last!
The picture quality is barely better than the vhs! I feel really cheated here.
What is the reason for such awful picture quality?? Revelation should be ashamed
of themselves for this release! Why was it not properly restored???
A great series ruined - what a waste of money! don't buy this!!!

No extras whatsoever !
I simply cannot understand how one calls a set of DVDs a "30th Anniversary Collector's Edition" that comes with no extras whatsoever. Not even having put subtitles onto it is in my eyes a disgrace. Taking into account the importance of the Mini-Series it's just apalling. Otherwise it's a landmark TV-Series that deserves to have treated better.

Dire Transfer For A Great Series
I bought this as a gift for my parents who had greatly enjoyed the series in the 1970s. A few months later I borrowed from them only to discover that there was no sound on the opening titles in part 1. The sound kicks in when the drama begins but the start of the programme is spoiled - anyone else have this problem? I would have returned it but it was out of the 30 days guarantee. However, overall, it is a rather shoddy product compared with so many other DVD boxsets.
