great billy fury at his rokin best
what a great album this is if you like rock n roll and billy fury.
some of the tracks are a bit watery but the majority certainly make up for this the excelent dont knock upon my door, the awsome turn my back on you and the boppy gonna type a letter bring back memories of the local rock n roll discos of the early 80's what a time!
would recomend this album be in your collection but dont expect a greatest hits type compilation no half way to paradise here just great british rock n roll.
Enjoy it i have!!!!

Billy Fury - Ultimate Rocker
Billy Fury, mean, moody, magnificent, brings all his raw rocker persona to this album. While Cliff was the sanitised version of rock n' roll, Billy Fury was the real deal. "The Sound Of Fury" is regarded as probably the best rock n' roll album of his generation and self penned tracks from that album appear here. It's true to say that his 'b' side output put many 'a' sides by contemporaries in the shade. Eddie Fontaine's "Nothin' Shakin" being a sublime example. How could "Don't Knock Upon My Door" have been a 'b' side? Billy brings his own interpretation to established standards such as "Kansas City" and "Hippy Hippy Shake" and makes them his own. Two further tracks from 'TSOF' backed by The Four Jays, who would later become The Fourmost and backing guitar by Joe Brown shows his obvious influence on the British Rn'r scene. The final five tracks are live performances performed with his backing group The Tornados. These tracks are full of the atmosphere of the time and cement his credentials as the ultimate British rock n' rocker.
