What About Hard Floors?
Have any of you owners tried your machine on hard floors? I emailed Vax and they say it's suitable, but I have a large slate floor which is naturally uneven. I'm a bit worried the machine won't be up to it, though it seems great from the reviews generally, and the carpet washing sounds popular! I just want to get the right tool...not sure whether to go for one of these or a scrubber-drier (more of a commercial thing?)

Excellent carpet washer
For many years, the only carpet washer I had was a Henry, one of those monsters with the face painted on the front. It was so messy to use and never seemed to get the carpet clean anyway, I eventually threw it out in disgust.

I bought the Vax V-125 really just hoping it would just be a better cleaner but it was far more than that. I was thrilled with its performance, the carpets looked brand new after cleaning and the machine (once I had read the instructions!) was far easier to use with no mess. I thoroughly recommend this machine combined with the solution recommended by Vax - Vax Ultra, the solution is expensive but well worth the outlay.

Worth every penny!!!!

I have had this machine about 3 months and have used all over the house with really pleasing results. I have had my carpets cleaned by professionals and I have used the one you can rent from Johnsons and B&Q and was very sceptical about investing in my own carpet cleaner, but this is as good if not better than the other cleaning alternatives i have tried.

It is easy to set up so I can just drag it out of the cupboard for little accidents in a jiffy, the cleaning results are impressive and the carpets smell lovely and fresh afterwards. I lent my machine to a friend who had got chimney soot all over her 3 day old cream carpet......it has left a feint mark in 1 area but has removed the rest.........she is so impressed she will be investing in a machine in the near future.

On the downside it is a heavy machine..........but no where near as heavy as the ones you can hire.....overall for my first owned carpet cleaner I am over the moon with it.
