About the Author
Colin Crane first started his working career in education, taking early retirement 29 years later as a Head Teacher. He then retrained as a driving instructor and quickly built up a large driving school within 4 counties, which he later sold. He now operates another very successful driving school with a constantly full diary. He also undertakes Driving Instructor Training and Advanced Driver Training. He holds a RoSPA (Gold) Advanced Driver qualification. Paul Pearson spent 25 years of his working career as an operational Fire Fighter, also carrying out the duties of a fire service instructor. Having gained valuable experience in instructing, running courses and setting fire service exams, it seemed only natural that on retirement he should become an ADI. After working for a local driving school for 12 months he decided to start his own driving school, which over the years has gone from strength to strength. Colin and Paul are partners in a joint internet business, selling training materials to Instructors, Trainers and Trainees.

Become an Approved Driving Instructor and set up your own driving school
I am currently training to become an ADI and about to start my part 2.
This book has everything that you need to become a driving instructor from firstly making sure that it is the right career choice for you, choosing the car, lesson plans for beginners and drivers with experience through to test day.
In "Become an Approved Driving Instructor and set up your own driving school" you have all the little tips and tricks that have been learnt by the long established driving instructors that have written the book.
I highly recommend this book. It is written in a way that is easy to understand having been baffled by other books about the same topic.
Having had no previous experience and lots of questions to ask, you will find all the answers you might have in this book.
Become an Approved Driving Instructor and set up your own driving school.
Having wondered what the working life of a driving instructor is like and if this would be a job that would suit me I decided to purchase this book titled Become an Approved Driving instructor. I am impressed that the authors have written a very comprehensive, readable and instructive book which is most evidently based upon quality experience and dedication to the teaching of first class driving skills from a well established and successful driving school business. As a reader of this book I was impressed by the methodical attention to detail and explanation given to the complexity and commitment necessary for embarking on ADI training in order to become a qualified approved driving instructor. The authors offer much encouragement to enable a novice to feel confident in the initial stages of considering whether this is a job suited to them. They are also reflective and objective in their writing as there is indeed much to be considered. Clearly defined issues are raised to give the reader opportunity to consider realistically if this is in fact an appropriate choice of career. I found the book to have been written in a very user friendly and informative style, with much thought given to systematically explaining all required aspects of developing, organising and running a driving school business. Not only does this book provide excellent instruction to the newly qualified ADI on how to deliver relevant and appropriate driving lessons, it also conveys clear insight into the possible and often probable reactions of clients engaged in this learning context. Overall the book has provided all that I want to know to aid my consideration towards working within the driving profession. I would recommend it to others contemplating or wishing to become an approved driving instructor.
