Amazon.co.uk Review
Fans of BBC2's late-night show Later ... with Jools Holland will already know what to expect from this lavish double CD spread. Around two thirds of the acts featured on this release had their TV debuts on the show, which sees veteran muso Jools Holland present the best of up and coming and established pop artists in a wide range of genres from hip hop and world to jazz, blues and rock. A quick look at the tracklisting reveals the caliber of artists to have appeared on the show (which has been running non-stop since 1992): Amy Winehouse, Kasabian, Lily Allen, The White Stripes, Keane, James Blunt, The Flaming Lips, Lily Allen, Muse and Kings Of Leon are some of the bigger names, while Richard Hawley, Estelle, Jose Gonzales, Kano, Primal Scream, CSS and Hard Fi radiate a more alternative, under-the-radar appeal. The live versions of Winehouse's "Tears Dry on Their Own," Hawley's "Valentine" Gnarls Barley's "Crazy," Seasick Steve's "Doghouse Blues" and Kasabian's "Empire" are just a few of the reasons Jools fans will want to own this enchanting profile of contemporary pop. --Danny McKenna
Album Description
Later with Jools Holland has been the most sought after TV outlet for both stellar names and relative unknowns (many of whom would go on to much bigger things) since it was first broadcast in 1992. It's been running ever since, without a break, and most recently completed it's 30th series. Later has always presented a unique blend of acts on each show and has a reputation that always brings the best out of its performers. None more so than on this remarkable collection of solo artists and bands, a phenomenal mix of all popular and world music styles. Where else are you likely to hear James Blunt, The Flaming Lips, Kaiser Chiefs, Jose Gonzales, PJ Harvey and Green Day under one rafter-rattling roof?
February 1st will mark the 200th episode of the hit BBC2 show.
This 2 CD collection is a snapshot of the most memorable performances from the last few years.

Later and Live with Jools Holland
Cool album rammed with soooo many artistes that I love! Pretty much all the big songs of the last two or so years or so but I kind of wish there was more of Jools Holland himself... That aside, the track that stands out above the rest has to be Amy Winehouse's `Tears Dry On their Own'. It's down right brilliant and probably the best recording of her live out there at the moment. Kasabien and White Stripes are also totally cool with `Empire' and `My Doorbell' utterly rocking my face!
