Collecting some of the best-loved cuts from the band's tenure with Parlophone records, this celebration of Radiohead isthe ideal place for the novice to begin. In no way chronologically or progressively structured, this 'Best Of' containssingles and the more popular album tracks, mostly from the band's first three albums. Material from the second three albums recorded for Parlophone feature less, but notable favourites such as 'Idioteque' and '2+2=5' are worthy inclusions.Monster singles 'Just', 'Paranoid Android' and 'Street Spirit' will be familiar to most, and are prime examples of Radiohead's early/mid period sound. The second disc focuses on later, more left-field material, and includes a live version of 'True Love Waits'.

NO!
What a aweful way to listen to radiohead! The albums are each intense and individual in their perfection and individuality. Go buy the albums, avoid this sell out rubbish at all costs.
Pop, pop, pop music
It's a travesty that this collection doesn't have a straight 5 star rating. Every single track has something going for it, and as a compilation it is simply mesmerising. Perhaps it's easy for me to say that; I'm not a big fan of Radiohead so I have no axes to grind.
Most of the grumbling in other reviews here is not new. Diehard Bob Dylan fans, for instance, will still tell you that His Royal Bobness CANNOT be collected in a 'Best of ...' Each album is different, unique, indivisible and so on. And, of course, if you are going to listen to Like A Rolling Stone, there is a lot to be said for hearing it in the context of the album it comes from (the blistering High 61 Revisited). Nevertheless it's a great piece of music and stands up on its own, come what may. So where's the harm?
The stuff here definitely stands up for itself. When my son brought this home and played it I was astonished, and I don't use that word lightly. He made me a copy and the rest is history. Maybe I'm too old to fully understand the purists' nitpicking and agonizing.
Anyway, I urge you to give this collection a try, whether or not you are a fan . Be sure to get the two disc version. Almost restores an old man's faith in pop music! And despite the impression you might get from reading some of the other reviews, that is what you have on these 2 discs - brilliant, melodic, catchy and intriguing pop music.
Dont buy this !!!!!
Having read previous reviews of this album, i was aware that the band did not want it released, i eventualy decided to buy The Bends, OK Computer and In Rainbows instead of the Best Of Collection, and i completely understand now why this band cannot be summarised in a "best of" collection. The albums are BRILLIANT. One of the best bands of modern times. PLEASE DONT BUY A BEST OF. IT NEGATES THE GREAT MUSIC OF ALL OF THEIR PREVIOUS ALBUMS, WHICH DESERVES LISTENING. DONT BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
