Review
"The companion website is a great addition to the book, where there are further resources, including videos and all the photos used in the book for you to download and practice on. As a digital photographer myself, I found all of Philip Andrews' books extremely clear and helpful and this one is no exception. Again, he has written one of the best books on the subject, in his usual clear and engaging style. The informative step-by-step instructions, full colour screen shots and the attractive presentation throughout only serve to reinforce the reasons to buy it." - Amazon Review

"At last - an Elements guide that moves beyond the basics to focus on getting the most out of Elements' powerful feature-set. Advanced Photoshop Elements 5.0 is a meaty tome that gets to grips with everything the true enthusiast would ever want to know - from complex layer work through to designing text for the web. Written by Adobe alpha tester Philip Andrews, this book is detailed, comprehensive and inspirational, making it the perfect accessory for those who've recently invested in the fifth instalment of the Elements program" - What Digital Camera April 07

Advanced Photoshop Elements 5.0 for Digital Photographers5
This is the companion book to Philip Andrews' "Photoshop Elements 5 - A Visual Introduction to Digital Photography", also from Focal Press. This title is aimed at those who have mastered the basics covered in the first book and wish to get to grips with some of the more advanced digital imaging techniques that are possible with the software. Containing 11 chapters, the book covers various topics including: camera and scanner techniques, working with RAW files, advanced image changes, darkroom techniques on the computer, making better panoramas, extending your web abilities and producing great prints, to name a few. The companion website is again a great addition to the book, where there are further resources, including videos and all the photos used in the book for you to download and practice on. As a digital photographer myself, I have found all of Philip Andrews' books extremely clear and helpful and this one is no exception. Again, he has written one of the best books available on the subject, in his usual clear and engaging style. The informative step-by-step instructions, full colour screen shots, and the attractive presentation throughout, only serve to reinforce the reasons to buy it.

Advanced Photoshop Elements 5.0 for Digital Photographers
By Philip Andrews

This is the next logical step from the author's introductory books into Elements 5.0. This book aims to expand the user's knowledge of Elements 5.0 as well as update any other information within the reader's workspace. The book goes beyond simple editing and manipulating of images, but explores publishing, web design as well as simple graphic design techniques. The author also shares tips and techniques for a variety of photographic concepts such as creating panoramas, hand colouring and restoration.

The reader will also get a great insight into topics such as RAW workflow, preparing for printers and scanning technology. With its colour coordinated chapters, the author fundamentally breaks down all information required before during and after editing images within Elements 5.0. The detail within the book is immaculate and the knowledge imparted to the reader is priceless. The illustrations are fantastic and the visual explanations are easy to follow. This book is a great addition to any digital photographer's library.

Avanced Photoshop Elements 55
I am on my fourth purchase of Photoshop Elements, and the other week I threw away over £70 pounds worth of books on the earlier versions.
And to be honest I never really learnt a lot from them.
But this book puts them all in the shade, if you are just an average person who wants to maximise the potential of Photoshop Elements 5 look no further.
And why bother buying version 6, if like me you haven't fully exploited version 5
