Simple things are great!
The Vinturi is an elegant leap in the application of a very simple principle - getting some air into your red wine. It is very easy to use and to keep clean. It certainly works; it will not make a poor wine good, but it will certainly improve the flavour of a good wine. We have been using this now for a couple of months and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to enjoy a good red wine at its very best. So let's all get aerating.

Stylish and works (I think ...)
This is a triumph of modern design. It is not only functional, it is also compact, looks great (almost like an abstract mini-sculpture) and it seems to actually make a difference to the taste of the wine straight out of the bottle. I said "I think" in the title of this review, because my opinion is from a sample of me and another person so it will need a few more samplings before I can say it is universally appreciated :-) So we both tasted the difference, although subtle, it did make the rich red wine taste smoother and more refined on pouring it as soon as opened. The way it works is quite ingenious, and it's very easy to use and the little stand and it's mini filter are very useful too. The gurgling sound as the wine pours through and gets aerated, is fun too. Wine aficionados should try it out.

Small Clever Thing
Arrived this weekend so we've been able to use it quite a bit (weekends being our main 'wine time'). This product is very well presented in a black and burgundy good quality box and when you open it there sits this beautiful small object of art. The Vinturi unit itself measures only 14x6cm (approx) and when sat in its black rubberised base adds only another centimeter. It comes complete with a tiny sieve which sits in the top of the unit where you pour and the whole this is completed with a velveteen pouch. The instructions come in five other languages beside english on a glossy folding card, and they couldn't be simplier (it even mentions about how to avoid drips).

So - first wine test Saturday evening with friends. We all took a sip from a glass just poured from the bottle and then a sip from a glass using the Vinturi - the difference is huge! This small beautiful gadget was tested on three very different wines, two reds and one white, the reds getting superb results and the white a more subtle result but still making a definite improvement. On Sunday night there was a small amount from each bottle left over so we tried these again with and without the Vinturi - wow, now here is a big difference. I always felt that wine left after opening and drank another day never quite tasted as good but now this little unit has changed that and makes a lovely drinkable wine. All those who tried and tasted the difference have popped one on their Christmas present list. Not only does this product really work, visually it is very pleasing, can highly recommend - worth every penny.
