Manufacturer's Description
Iconic gadgets don't come along every day. And even fewer are able to make a comeback 40 years after they were first released. Enter The Stylophone. Back in the 70's this electronic music device was the must have gadget--a breakthrough in musical experimentation. It was even advertised on the TV by Rolf Harris. 40 years after its creation the Stylophone is back, re-released with a few essential improvements for today's user, but still with its ultimate retro-styled looks. Simply put, the Stylophone is an electronic pocket organ that enables the user to create music by tapping and dragging a stylus across a metallic surface; moving the stylus around the metal surface will alter the pitch of the note sounding from the internal speaker. The re-released Styophone now has a headphones output, allowing users to experiment and create music without compromising the sanity of those in the close vicinity. It also has an audio input, which enables the user to connect and play an MP3 player (or other audio device) and jam along with their favourite tracks. Don't be fooled by its simplistic appearance--the Stylophone is not to be underestimated. In fact it's been used by the likes of David Bowie in "Space Oddity" and also made an appearance on Doctor Who. It doesn't get more retro than the Stylophone.
Box Contains

Customer Reviews
It's a Stylophone... get one!
I was just browsing a gadget shop in town earlier and stumbled across this for £15. I thought to myself - this must just be for show, so I asked for a trial. It's awesome! I picked it up straight away
The sound is spot-on. It also features two new sounds (one is like a dirty amplified organ, which is excellent) and vibrato for a very different sound. The unit is capable of very impressive volumes - you will be able to drown out all your inferior friends with this little badboy. (Also includes headphone socket in case you don't want to lose your friends)
External input means you can plug in your MP3 player(/whatever) and jam along to your favourite tunes - the tuning knob on the back is so precise (and has a massive range) so you can really have a blast. And because it sounds so authentic, you could easily use this for recording purposes if the original Stylophone sound is what you are trying to capture
Most of all - experienced or not - this thing is just damn fun to use, and everyone you know will be jealous. Buy it now!

A blast from the past
Brought back memories to me. Bought for my son for Christmas (he is 13) ... and it was a hit. Doesnt look any more hi-tech than it did back in the seventies, so a very charming little piece. Worth the money.
A gift fit for a grandson
Our Grandson age 6 had excelled in his school work so we decided to buy him a gift to show how proud we were so we bought a Stylophone.I thought they were of the past but no we were delighted to see them on Amazon. We live in the N/east and he lives in Romsey so we don't see him as often as we'd like but according to his dad he loves it.I can't mark the durable section as he has'nt had it long enough to comment, but it is something very different and I'm delighted with the purchase. In future I will check Amazon first for ideas and good value.
