Synopsis
Nearly a decade ago, this book and its companion volume, The New Topping Book, began teaching tens of thousands of people the joyous arts of BDSM topping and bottoming - not just technique, but emotional support and ethical interaction. Since then, the growing popularity of BDSM and the blossoming of the Internet as a source of information and connection have created a whole new universe of possibilities. Now, the completely revised NEW BOTTOMING BOOK offers even more insights and ideas, updated for a new millennium, about how to really play.

Quite personal
The one thing I actually do not like is the way this book is so filled with the authors' personal anecdotes. It is a weird mix of being instructional and factual (although most of it is stuff that you find in abundance online of you look) and being an insight into some in my mind too personal matters. However, I think this is a good book for anyone who has a beginning interest in bottoming, and for those who are more experienced it will offer a little more than just an updated library. It is one of those books that makes the attempt to cover most of the scene in a rather limited amount of space, and the result is somewhat a brush-over of things that generally require much more attention. Having said this, I liked the book. It is not exactly a coffee table book, but the new cover is so much more pleasing than the first edition (save for the silly cartoon that has somehow managed to still sneak into the O).
Being a submissive myself, I found that it reinforced some of the more important aspects as well as gave me some inspiration and motivation to want to experience new things. It is a good companion book to additional literature on the subject. Also, I would reckommend Jay Wiseman's SM101.
