Product Description
Underground cult heroes Pearls Before Swine were formed by singer-songwriter Tom Rapp in the mid '60s, and between 1967and 1971 released six albums of psychedelic folk-rock. CONSTRUCTIVE MELANCHOLY: 30 YEARS OF PEARLS BEFORE SWINE collects some of the brightest moments from Rapp and company on a beautifully assembled 26-track set.
Sadly, since the compilation selects solely from the band's Reprise albums, material from two of PBS's best releases (ONE NATION UNDERGROUND and BAKLAVA) is absent. Even so, there's an abundance of finesongs (especially those from the late-'60s/early-'70s era) which showcase Rapp's songcraft and the band's unique take on psychedelia.
