BUY THIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is not often you see so many 5 stars for an album, buy it and you will totally agree.
Like others, I heard this when I was a kiddo and today it still sounds as fresh as a daisy.
This really is timeless pop with songs both your Grandma and punk cousin will find acceptable. It is hard to say which singles are the best because there really isn't a bad track on it, but my own personal favourite is 'Sorry'.
I know this is a lot of money, but I promise that it is a worth while investment. I don't know if Terry Hall is making any money from this Asian release, but in my opinion he should be given a knighthood. THE BEST ALBUM OF THE 80's.
At Long Last!!
I've been searching for this since it came out and it was well worth the wait. Some albums like this appear with bonus tracks which are simply songs which weren't quite good enough for the album, or are interesting re-workings of old tracks and to be honest, these are. However the total uniqueness of this album, right down the (sometimes glaring) typos which you can only get on an import like this. My CD itself is stamped "The Colour Fields" for instance. If all the other copies out there don't have this then my copy is for sale for £10 million!!
Of course my reason for buying this was to hear the original work of genius that this is. I was lucky enough to see them play in Newcastle once, the set started with Terry throwing his lighted tab end into his adoring fans before they broke into a blistering rendition of David Byrne's "Memories Can't Wait". SUPERB!!!
at last Virgins and Philistines on cd
back in the early 80's I spent vast amounts of my time listening to this album, the best collection of songs the world has ever seen (or heard). Now, nearly 20 years later, these tunes are as good as ever and totally timeless. My record deck has long since given up the ghost and having chewed up the last tape recording of the album I have been longing to find this gem on cd. I now have it and will again spend far too much time listening to it. With several bonus tracks including the sublime Windmills of my Mind and the sometimes "creative" translation from Japanese to English on the lyric sheet this album is The Best Bar None.
