From the author5
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R226HJWCPG0ERU As the author of this book, I thought I should add a few words. My father served in Bomber Command during the war, so this was something of a personal project for me.

I took a lot of trouble to track down the personal histories of the men who served in Lincolnshire with Bomber Command. The book is filled with anecdotes and incidents, and it also focuses on what it was like to serve with Bomber Command. I have also included a fair bit of technical info on the aircraft, but have put these in separate panels so that it does not break up the main book for those of you who are less interested in engine power and service ceilings.

I included a separate chapter on the Dambusters to do them justice.

The book is packed with dozens of photos of men, machines and events.

Other books that I have written are also available on Amazon. Do a search under my name to find them.

Brief overview of Bomber Ops in Lincolnshire3
A reasonable general overview of Bomber Operations from Lincolnshire bases. Easy to read and digest.

The book is certainly interesting and contains some fascinating stories. However, the synopsis on the back cover does not inspire accuracy when it refers to Lincolnshire as "Bomber Country" and not "Bomber County". Also, the fact that RAF Cottesmore is not even in Lincolnshire, despite being named as one of its four major airfields! There is also a loose leave "erratum map" correcting other airfield locations.
It's a good book that would have benefited from better proof reading before publication.
