Amazon.co.uk Review
"You can't kill the boogeyman", explained John Carpenter in the original Halloween, and to prove it Michael Myers returns in the handsome but grisly sequel Halloween 2. Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode but spends most of her time cowering in a hospital gown, and Donald Pleasance runs around like a maniac as the panicky doctor desperate to hunt down Myers before he kills again. Carpenter writes and produces with partner Debra Hill and together they replace the mystery and uncertainty of the original with an exponentially bigger body count, some strange tales about the Druids and Pagan ceremonies, and the now-familiar family ties between Michael and Laurie. First-time director Rick Rosenthal (Bad Boys) paces the film at a brisk jog and directs it with a clean, crisp style, taking the murders out of the dark to display them in all their nasty detail. --Sean Axmaker, Amazon.com

Synopsis
Picking up right where the last film ended, this sequel begins as Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence) pumps evil Mike Myers full of lead, then watches helplessly as the maniac killer stands up again and runs away. Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), the teenager last terrorized by Myers, is taken to a nearby hospital to recover from her traumatic ordeal. But Myers isn't through with her yet, and the fright-night monster works his way through the sleepy town, leaving a river of blood in his wake. Determined to get his revenge on Laurie, he eventually descends upon the hospital--and the dark secret that binds the two of them is finally revealed.

quality stuff
This film is an excellent carry on from the first film. continuing the original storyline and expanding past it. keeping it on the same halloween night and adding extra twists just increases the thrill of the ride.
I highly recommend it.
Halloween 2 Synopsis
Finally we understand why Michael is after Laurie. Due to the massive cliffhanger of the first film we see that Michael Myers has escaped and his victim Laurie has been taken away to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital. Soon Michael finds out where Laurie is after hearing her whereabouts on a radio and travels to finish his night of terror. Soon he gets to hospital and discreetly murders the guard, four nurses, two ambulance drivers and a docter until only him and Laurie are left in the deserted building. But with Dr. Loomis on the way things can't go wrong until Michael's connection to Laurie is finally revealed. A strong sequel with a fair share of gore that backs up the first film. Rather cheesy at times but this is the one where we find out how Laurie has become Michael's object of obsession.
Myers back at his best
Halloween has been hailed as the best horror film ever made, so it was always going to be tough for the sequel. In many ways this is better than the first as its more tense. The sequel breaks new ground and reveals some secrets along the way.
The film is a direct continusion of the first and most of which takes place in the hospital. My advice is if you liked the first then you'll like the second.
