Synopsis
In FINAL DESTINATION 2, the basic notion of cheating mortality is further refined with an even more gripping plot provided by Eric Bress & J. Mackye Gruber, the duo behind the film BLUNT. Director David R. Ellis revels in film as an entertainment vehicle and the result is a no-holds-barred raucous good time. Ellis' background as a stuntman and stunt coordinator helps him build electric suspense through a chain of seemingly simple actions that in fact loaded and lethal.
In the original, FINAL DESTINATION, a group of students avoided the tragic crash of Flight 180 when Alexander Browning had a premonition. Death, however, didn't like being outwitted, and one by one the survivors died in freak accidents. The sole survivor was Clear Rivers (Ali Larter) who voluntarily checked into a padded room at Stonybrook Institute. FINAL DESTINATION II takes place on Flight 180's one-year anniversary. Kimberly Corman (A.J. Cook) is joyriding with some friends on Route 23 when she "sees" herself, her friends, and other drivers involved in a massive multi-car pileup. The scene is so artfully executed, it physically hurts to watch. She and police officer Thomas Burke (Michael Landes) save a group of people who would have otherwise died in the crash. But, as ever, death approacheth, taking the likes of Evan (David Paetkau), the Trans Am-loving lottery winner who puts up a good fight but is ultimately impaled on a fire escape ladder; and Tim (James Kirk), who almost chokes to death at the dentist and is later flattened by a piece of industrial glass. Clear Rivers busts out of the psych ward to help the remaining survivors pool their efforts and read the signs of impending death before it claims their lives.

A rare event
It is a rare event for a sequal to improve on it's predecessor, but Final Destination 2 does just that. It build's and evolves on what made the first film great. This film really is just a powerhouse of thrills and spills. Again all the death scenes are perfectly masterpieced and graphicly protrayed. These factors alone make the film a must see and you will on the edge of your seat straight away after the opened scene which shows the worst highway pile-up diaster you can imagine.
Better than the 1st
What can i say this is definately one to watch, in comparison to the 1st this is much better in my opinion, its keeps you watching all the way through waiting to see what will happen next, and how things will turn out in the end.
It is quite gory in parts so if you don't like that kind of stuff then this film is not one for you, although its not too bad otherwise it'd be an 18.
If you've never seen the film or the previous one the basic plot is that an accident is prevented by someone who gets a clue as to what will happen, then 'death' is trying to kill all the people off who should have died in the accident.
The special features on this DVD include deleted scenes and alternate scenes, 2 music videos, small playable games, and some cmmentarys from the directors, and cast.
All i can say is you'll definately enjoy this one!
Even better than the original!
I enjoyed Final Destination to some extent, and was amazed by how each person in the film died. When I watched Final Destination 2 it blew me away! It was so much better! If you have seen Final Destination and thought it was amazing, good or OK then you must see Final Destination 2! This film could have easily picked up an 18 certificate, for its over the top gore and thrills! The way the deaths have been choreographed is amazing! Even though a lot of the deaths were computer animated this time around take nothing away from the film! An absolute must buy!
