From the Publisher
This is the book that Sir Richard Branson calls a very wise buy. The founders of Virgin's programme have helped thousands of people on their courses. This book is their way of helping those that want some help to come to them.

From the Author
We have been asked for years to capture some of the great stuff that happens on our courses. So here it is! We hope that you enjoy it.

From the Inside Flap
Welcome from Sir Richard Branson
Congratulations!
You have just made a very wise buy here.
I have been very close to Richard and Paul who have
brought this book to you, ever since we set up Virgin
Atlantic's `Flying Without Fear' course all those years ago.
The courses have been very popular and I hear of
countless stories of people now starting to enjoy their
lives fully.
I have been very fortunate to have enjoyed a lifetime of
flying around the world - I don't want you to miss out on
another flight ever again.
Enjoy the book and hope to see you flying Virgin Atlantic Soon. Sir Richard Branson

Customer Reviews

A must-have for the reluctant flier!5
If, like me, you break into a cold sweat at the very thought of going within fifty feet of an aeroplane, and have acquired a wide experience of holidays in the UK and France rather than face the trauma, this book is definitely for you!!
A spin-off from the highly successful course of the same name, the book is written in a down to earth and very readable style, and without patronising the reader it uses sufficient technical detail and explanation to inspire confidence (did you know how many back up computers they have on an aircraft? Why lift really won't let it just fall out of the sky?) and goes a long way towards dispelling the myths and irrational fears that inspire the nightmares of us nervous passengers. I'm taking my first flight abroad in over twenty years in a couple of days' time and reading and re-reading the information contained in '101 Questions' is proving invaluable in enabling me to approach the experience in a positive frame of mind!

Amazing5
I have a fear of flying, obviously, and I have tried everything. I went on the course last October in Southampton and bought the book there. I have been to different places around the world from the States to NZ and it has been awful. I don't sleep, eat move in case this makes the plane crash. I'd had enough.

I thought, at the time, the course was OK and I brought the book. Didn't think it had made a difference. Went to Heathrow a couple of weeks later to go back to NZ. Bit nervous but was perfectly fine on the plane! It was AMAZING it answers the questions in a comprehensive way, doesn't patronise and was completlty honest.

It takes you through all steps i.e. what happens at the air port, sounds on the plane, take off. My partner was made up because we could have a conversation. It was my Bible and I am not exagerating. I lent it to my Auntie and she had a good flight for the first time. It is more of those things that you think "that was no good, didn't work for me" Trust me it does when you are on that plane.

If you are scared of Flying,BUY IT, you will not regret it at all.

Virgin flying without fear.5
I purchased this book before i took the Virgin flying without fear course.I found it totally wonderful,it prepared me for what to expect from the day and all the speakers. It also answered questions which to anyone without the fear wouldnt understand and would probably giggle at,but for me it made sense of it all.I would recommend this book to anyone who has a fear of flying.
