Customer Reviews

pretty good effort4
Weve waited a long time for a book on this subject, and while its a bit sketchy its well worth a look. Ive so far only skimmed through it and it is a bit of a lightning tour through the years and the text is a bit brief for the those who really like to get into the nitty gritty but the colour drawings are super. For each of the real stand out models there is a double page, body work removed drawing that is very informative. For every year there is a nice half page colour, drawing and a table of specs, along with text on the major technical issues of bike design for that year. Its interesting tracing the rise in horsepower through the years. There arent alot of photos, mostly drawings, which is probably better. Thoroughly recommended.

What about Honda?2
I bought this book hoping to have a history on all major Grand Prix bikes. I am very disappointed. Only the 500 class is covered, and no mention of the 50, 125, 250 classes, and to leave out any real mention of Honda, a marque who transformed bike racing in the 60's (admittedly in the smaller classes) is a travesty. I believe that at one stage in the 60's the 250 class became the feature event at a number of meetings.

GP Motorcycles4
The greatest manufacturer in the 1960s gets missed, because it didn't become the 500 World Champions. There should have been something about Honda's achievements.
