this is the second book that I have published on Reiki and it's release has coincided with the first book 'Empower your life with Reiki', being sold out. It is still available with it's US title Practical Reiki, just a different cover.

In the new book I have tried to convey not only the wonder of the healing art of Reiki but also the ancient theory of the chakras. I have found through my own research into chakras that I have gained a great insight into the workings of the human mind and emotions. The chakras offer us a fascinating model through which we can see the human development potential and conversley where we can get stuck.

It was my aim to offer the reader a book that could be referred to at any time by opening it at any page as well as a book that could be read from cover to cover. I feel I have achieved that.

Part of my reason for wishing to write something here was to thank those people that wrote reviews on my last book. It is amazing to read that somebody in turkey's life has been touched by something I have written and prompted them to learn Reiki. For me it makes it all worthwhile, Thank you again.

I first bought this book as a present for a friend a few years ago and thought I'd have a look. I can assure you this book has no 'dead people' in it, and works so well in explaining how fundamental the chakras are to Reiki. His book explains the history, the chakras and the associations with each so very well. Richard has since become my Reiki master and I cannot tell you enough how wonderful his teaching is. It's clear and easy to read and a wonderful all round book if your looking for your first Reiki book or just expanding on the chakras.

Seeing too many dead people...
The book, as a work on Reiki is ok, nothing that isn't seen in the works of Petter or Lubeck.
However, there is really far too much messing around with dead people for this reviewer's comfort. If the author is on the level, I would think Dr Usui would be opting for re-incarnation just to get a rest! It will doubtless appeal to a 'certain' type of New Ager, but to me, it reduces Reiki to little more than Necromancy, which is as far from the spirit of Reiki as one can comfortably get without involving the sacrifice of small animals.

What a brilliant book
I attuned to Reiki a few months back and wanted to read a bit more into the subject. This book was the first out of the three I bought that I thought I should read and boy were my instincts right.

Many Reiki 'Masters' dont go into depth with chakra information but this book explains everything you'd ever want to know. It tells you the myths around the chakras, what each one signifies and what can happen to the physical and emotional body if it is blocked in some way. It also has great exercises to do to try and free them back up.

The book also covers a bit of history about Reiki, its not indepth at all but it is enough (and unbiased) to give the general background. It also has many stories that author has encountered during his Reiki life.

I love this book, it is written with such love and understanding. I've just given it to my friend who is attuning to reiki soon and she is really enjoying it to.
