A fantastic artist
This is the third year I have brought the calender and as usual the reproduction of the images is very good. Elvgren was a great artist with a sense of humour that comes across very well. Saucy, possibly; sexy, definitely; but this is something that can be put on display without fear of offence as it's humour and glamour win over all who see it. My only critisisim is that the images are primarily repeated from year to year and as there are many others that could be used some more variety could be included. If you need something to brighten up your room and brighten up your mood then this is it.

A pinup a week for a year
Gil Elvgren's classic 50s and 60s pinups are sometimes saucy, sometimes erotic, but never crude or rude. Taschen presents them in a beautiful and convenient spiral bound desk diary on quality paper with quality printing. I've been buying the Taschen Pinups desk diary for several years now and am always satisfied. My only gripe is that many of the pictures are repeated year after year. Elvgren's output was vast, so it would be good to see different pictures year on year.
