Editorial Reviews

Review
'This well-presented guide is a must for those of you that are enthusiastic long-distance walkers.' (Living France) 'The guide is light and compact. The layout is excellent, it is clear and easy to follow, and is up to the usual high standards of other Cicerone guides. ... Kev Reynolds is without doubt one of the best writers of walking and trekking guides in the world. In this guide [he] has transferred his experience into thoroughness, his style of writing makes for real clarity. This guide is good value for money and will, without doubt, become the standard guide in English for the Tour of Mont Blanc.' (Graham Boswell, The Leader)

Customer Reviews

Superb Book5
Brilliant collection of information.
The only thing missing was the kitchen sink.
If you're thinking of doing the TMB then this has got to be the first point of call for information.

Quite Excellent!5
This appears to be a superb guide to the Tour and provides enough guidance to get around almost without a map. Very clear and logically constructed. I also checked out Cicerone's own website entry for this book. There's some useful additional information there including a link to a rather useful site www.walkingthetmb.com which fills in with pictures some of the items the guide covers in a more generalised manner - stuff like what it's actually like to stay in a refuge and a comprehensive refuge list and way points. It's enough to make me confident that the Tour du Mont Blanc can be my first attempt at a self organised Alpine trek in 2008! France, Italy, Switzerland here I come!

Tour of Mont Blanc5
This is the definitive guide for anyone tackling the Tour of Mont Blanc - just about everyone on the Tour seems to have a copy!
It is clear and accurate. The times stated for each section are fairly realistic.
There is plenty of background information to help plan your expedition and tips on accomodation that will be encountered en-route. There are route variations to add extra climbing if weather and fitness permits.
A highly recommended book for anyone contemplating the Tour!
