Customer Reviews
Great little speaker system
I actually bought this from somewhere else but I thought I'd still write a review 'cos it's raining and there isn't much to do. I'll start off with the only niggle I have with it, and that is that the ipod dock (which pops out when pushed as it's spring loaded) is a bit wobbly. However I plan on keeping the dock out, not continuously popping it in and out so this won't annoy me. The touch controls are very nice to use and they're not hard to use at all, you just have to look where you're pressing.
The remote is very light and neat, a shame the buttons don't light up but that's asking too much for the price. There is a seperate wireless snooze button which is handy if you don't have the unit by your bedside as it allows you to snooze or turn off the alarm with ease. You can do this on the remote but that's gonna be fiddly on a dark morning when you're still half asleep.
The sound quality is very very good from the ipod and again it's a shame the radio isn't digital but the fm antenna is easily long enough to get a good signal.
The best bit - the backlight. This is a mood light which projects a glow onto the wall behind the main unit. There are about 15 different colours you can have, and it is very bright (you can adjust the brightness from 1 to 17) when you want it to be - very nice touch.
All in all a very nice system which I only payed £50 as it was ex-display, but even for £70 I would recommend this easily!
docking station
excellent product bought as present. Sound is great but the mood light not quite as effective as originally thought but thats only a minor detail, everything else is incredibly good. After looking at lots of other reviews and products I am happy that i'd decide on this one.
Disappointed
Having bought other Altec Lansing products I expected this model to come up to their usual high standards. However I have been disappointed with it. The controls are either via a very small remote control or touch sensitive buttons which are extremely sensitive to use. I found it very difficult to operate and to program. I have had problems setting the alarm function and even though I select radio alarm the buzzer goes off. Sometimes the buzzer sounds as well as the radio. I don't recommend it as an alarm system. The sound quality is good if you just want it to play music.
