Editorial Reviews

Review
A valuable tool for anyone starting out in the pre-hospital care profession. A funny, fact-filled book that will captivate and educate at the same time! --James Agnew, Duty Station Officer

As a senior clinician and paramedic trainer, I am often asked about applications to join the ambulance service. What does the job involve? What is the application process? What should I wear to the interview? What type of question will they ask? In The Street Medic s Survival Guide Stuart has answered and more, in what has become his trademark lighthearted view of the profession. Readers of his blog, or previous bestseller Life & Death on the Streets will know how Stuart has the ability to make difficult subject matter easy to read, and his explanations are clear. The reader is left in no doubt as to what the modern ambulance service is looking for in new recruits. I would not hesitate to recommend this book not only to anyone who is considering a career in the ambulance service, but also as a fun read to those of us that are already in! --Stephen Hines Bsc (Hons), Dip IMC RCS Ed, Clinical Support Manager

Great guide for those already interested in the job.4
A good guide to the reality of the job. Something you'd rarely read about on the recruiting sites. Highly recommended for anyone considering the job but isn't directly involved with a service already.
The margin gaps are too small in the centre of the book but not to the point it's unreadable, and it is very concise as well, no wasted words, but you do finish wanting more.
Best bet is to buy the paramedics diary and get some examples of what you'll have just read about.

Worth a Read3
This book is a very worthwhile read, if you are interested in going into the paramedic career. It gives you a reasonable amount of information, about a number of aspects of the career. However in certain areas there could be a lot more detail added, and how the book has been put together, it is hard to read some of the writing due to the close proximity of the binding to the writing.
But this is definately worth a read if you are interested in this career option.

The Street Medic Survival Guide: 15
Well worth getting this book if you are thinking about a career within the ambulance service country wide UK.

This gives you a insite into the entry requirments and trade secrets, giving you that extra edge against others applying for the same job.
