Product Description

We've replaced the clunky map section from the last edition with a simple map of the Strip, a map of Downtown and a map of the monorail system. Sites are now mapped on the sheet map with one large key. We recommend places off the main Strip (Las Vegas Blvd), in the University of Nevada student area and side trips to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon. In this title, expanded Casinos & Gambling chapter features 40+ reviews of casino resorts. It's hard to dig beneath the surface of this enigmatic city, but our author has spent years digging up the best retro, Rat Pack haunts, local record stores, 3am steak specials and other parts of the city that weekend visitors would never find on their own.

Could be better3
I am a big fan of Lonely planet books and have plenty of them on my selves. But this was probably the worst one that I have from them. I found that there was not really enough information about what to do, see and find in all of the casinos and that there was too much information which I personally found unuseful and unhelpful.

The best part of the book was the history of Vegas, which I found very interesting.

I would actually say that if you are going to Vegas that you probably don't even need such a book. There is so much in all of the Casinos that after 4 days we did not see no where near all of the free things, let along the other things which you can pay to see (the dolphins in the Mirage for example). And there is also plenty more to see and do in and around Vegas.
