Murder at the Music Hall
Even though he has married Royalty, Auguste Didier still finds himself having to investigate murders. This one occurs while he is working as a temporary chef at a greasy music hall eating-house, while acting as bodyguard to star comedian Will Lamb. This
book conjures up a wonderfully vivid picture of the Edwardian music hall, the acts described seem real and as usual there are many amusing, colourful characters, and an ingeneous plot. Food is of course very important to the story, this time pies predominate, and of course Inspector Rose is there with his quiet
shrewdness to balance Auguste's excitability. One of the best of this wonderfully entertaining series.
