A lovely book
I love this book. I bought it in 2002 when I was first learning Spanish. Never mind if the Spanish was too difficult at the time, the translation kept the story going. I read and re-read these stories and get more out of them each time. Not just 'language-learning stories' but stories with real literary merit and which illustrate the Spanish speaking world and mind. I'll buy volume 2 next and see if it's as good!

Great for Teaching Spanish intermediate level
The stories are very interesting.
They will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
The English translation is on the next page, so you can always refer to it, if you don't know the meaning of a sentence or word. My students really enjoy these books and are useful to improve reading and comprehension. Students of Spanish also enjoy to write a paragraph of what they thought of the story. This activity helps with writting and expressing themselves in the Spanish language. Great writers!!
