A good racing game for people who don't like racing games.5
I didn't really enjoy GRID or anything more serious than Motorstorm, so when me and my friends got addicted to Party play on the free demo of this game (which I advise before you buy - it's chock full of content and a great taster for the game; called Trackmania Nations Forever.

This game gets quite difficult. One of my friends has made it to unlocking black difficulty, and after having played the game for 15 hours or so it was a struggle for him to get a bronze medal on one of them. But the game has some nice challenges for less skilled players too. It is very much an arcade racer, featuring easy to grasp turning physics, giant jumps, walls of death and loop the loops in later stages.

There are 7 different geographical types of stage, with some good variety and each with a differently handling car. For instance, the desert has a twitchy car that is liable to flip if you turn to hard, so the key to success is pacing. As for content, this game is integrated into the user-generating Trackmania network, so there are virtually infinite racetracks to try out online or off. And the on-disc content isn't too shabby by itself.

Overall, I bought this game for a fiver, and could not be happier with the good times I've had with it amongst friends and by myself. The game runs excellently and looks great considering what it can run on. You can max it out for graphics only slightly less impressive than GRID's, or trim it down and run it on my crapp laptop (still looking slick and sharp).

best racing game foe a PC5
This game is the most varied, realistic and unbeleivable racing fun I have come across. Buy it and enjoy.

Not great.1
I downloaded this game when it was free, thinking what the hell, for no money down I might as well. It was entertaining at first, there was only one car that I could use as far as I could see, the tracks were mostly weird stunt tracks and provided some fun for a while. It did have Racing Wheel Support, but stangely I couldn't configure the Pedals to work, so I had to organise Acceleration and Braking by using the programmable buttons on the wheel itself - Not good. Then while driving there was no feedback whatsoever from the wheel which made controlling the car really tricky, just trying to get a straight line from it was enough of a challenge.
I suppose it's cheap, and you'll get some fun out of it, but in the end I just uninstalled it after a couple of weeks bored with it. Simply put there is much better online racers and massive numbers of competetors don't make up for the lack of serious tracks. You get what you pay for in the end.
