what we've all been waiting for
This is a remarkable book, very readable yet full of well-researched facts. Easy to dip into but good enough to read right through. I enjoyed the chatty style, and felt the author must have had me in mind when she wrote it. Like the title suggests, it's a wise book and I thoroughly recommend it.
It can be tough to work from home but this book made me realise I was lucky to be able to make the choice and now I will get more out of it.
A Must-Have!
What an invaluable book! As a writer I didn't really think of myself as 'running a business from home'. But that's exactly what I do, and this book has been key in getting me to realise this and approach my work in a much more energised and productive way. It covers absolutely everything, including personality types, how to structure your time, deal with isolation, separate work life from home life, avoid procrastination... And what I found really useful, how to recognise when you need to take a break or get out more, and not beat yourself up about doing so! This book has really made me understand what I've been doing wrong, and right, and given me the confidence to be a good boss to myself and really appreciate the benefits of homeworking. It's written in a really engaging and friendly style, with great hints, tips and other resources, and interesting examples of real experiences from homeworkers doing a wide variety of jobs. A great new permanent addition to my must-have-to-hand books on the shelf just next to my desk!
At last a friendly, helpful book about homeworking!
I bought this book on the recommendation of a fellow home working friend and I am so glad I did! All the points are helpful and non-patronizing (so refreshing in this type of book) I felt that the author really knew what she was talking about. She thoroughly addressed the things that I struggle with on a daily basis and gave practical advice which I have been able to put into practice already.
I know I'll dip in and out of this book again and again and really use it as a 'bible' for my business.
Totally brilliant!
