Manufacturer's Description
CINEMA 4D CE+ is identical to the award winning CINEMA 4D XL6 which took the 3D world by storm. Winning top review after top review, XL6 redefined the meaning of powerful 3D software, by providing cutting edge tools at an amazing price. Now CE+ gives you all that power at a price that defies belief. CE+ not only provides you with powerful tools like Sub Division Surfaces CE+ (HyperNURBS) and Metaballs, but also blazingly fast rendering and the ability to output render sizes up to a colossal 16,000 by 16,000 pixels. In short this software gives you everything you need to create all kinds of 3D masterpieces; from slick coporate logos to awe inspiring space ships. CE+ is an ideal investment into the world of 3D. And when it's this price, you'd be mad to miss out.

Customer Reviews

DO NOT BUY THIS!1
This is version 6, which was given away free with computer magazines in 2003! You can still get it on the internet (LEGALLY) for nothing. When I pr-ordered it, it said version 9.5 on the box, now it says version 6.

Why did we have to wait until the 4th of September for four year old softeare? Waken up Amazon, we may be British, but we are not stupid!

If you have £90 to waste, please send it to me!

Great all rounder that's easy to use :-)5
If you're after a 3D tool that can do just about anything, you should certainly check this one out.

I'm a Photoshop user and was looking to add a bit of 3D to my work. C4D is a good choice for this because it can output images in PSD format and that gives you massive control over your final images. For example you can have your 3D object on a seperate layer which makes it a doddle to comp into your Photoshop image :-)

A lot of people get put off of 3D because it's difficult. And although Cinema 4D has a lot of power, the nice thing with it is once you know one tool, all similar tools work in the same fashion. That makes it pretty easy to learn. I managed to start churning out some nice iamgery in a couple of days. You get video tutorials and a quick start guide to get you up and running and there's quite a few training DVDs and books avaialable for this product.

Maxon are also very quick at supporting new techonology. There's already a 64 bit version for the PC, and that's a free download to current users. There's also free tech support which is handy if anything does confuse you.

The modular system is useful. You can just pick the bits you need. This main product contains loads of tools and will keep most people busy for many months. But if you're after additional tools then check out the modules. I have the Advanced Render which is good for photoreal stuff.

Is there anything C4D can't cope with? Not really. You can animate, produce high res stills (upto 16K by 16K pixels) and save out in many formats like psd, jpeg, tiff, quicktime, avi, etc. There's even outputs to native after effects, shake, final cut pro and combustion.

What can you do with it? Whatever you like really. I've seen people making buildings, cars, characters, films, logos, pretty mcuh anything you can think of.

Any gripes? Can't think of much. A printed ref manual would have been nice. But you can buy that for £40 if you want it. There's loads in there to learn too. But that gives you lots of options.

In short, recommended.
