Amazon.co.uk Review
Early on in Robocop 3, an action figure of our metal hero on the nightstand in a little girl's room informs us that he's now become a children's toy. The image is right on the money; despite following up two of the most violent, hilarious sci-fi/action films ever made, Robocop 3 is strictly for the kiddies. It's not just that the gore has been toned down considerably to make for a PG-13 rating; also excised is the straight-faced portrait of a world run by corporate fascism. When evil corporation OCP, and its even more evil Japanese parent company, plan to raze a Detroit neighbourhood to put up the shining new Delta City, the residents (including the aforementioned adolescent, who conveniently happens to be a computer expert) gang up to fight back, just like the angry neighbours in Death Wish V. Robocop (played this time out by Robert John Burke, Peter Weller having wisely passed) could be a hindrance to the companies' plans, so a ninja android is sent in to deal with him. Even all this could have been enjoyable, in a campy sort of way, but nothing pays off as either comedy or action--tellingly, the two big showdowns with the ninja start exhilaratingly (Robocop's clunky movements hilariously counterpoised by the android's acrobatic leaps), only to end just when they're getting good. Director Fred Dekker has some nice stylistic touches scattered about, but not nearly enough to save the film. One high note, though: the animated "Johnny Rehab" spot may be the funniest ad in the whole series. --Bruce Reid, Amazon.com

Synopsis
The big bad company has bought Detroit out and sends gangs of ruthless mercenaries out into the streets to throw residents out of their homes. But Robocop does not swerve from his order to serve and protect the citizens, leading a group of freedom fighters against the cruel executives.
Customer Reviews
A terrifying vision of a future ruled by big business.
This third Robocop film kicks off with one of the darkest scenes in the entire series - a household, followed by a housing estate, taken over by a ruthless corporation, much of it from the point of view of a little girl.
Though Peter Weller never returned for this sequal, the new Robocop actor does a good job of imitating him. In this film (in a kind of parable of the tin man from Wizard of Oz) Robocop is given a heart, and realises he must now turn his back on the power-crazed OCP bosses. The new villains are good, the ninja cyborg is chilling and there is a real sense of hope for the future as the police officers and citizens realise the real enemy is the corporation who promised them a glowing future. This film has more humour than before, granted, but that helps counter-balance the darker moments. A great film.
ROBOCOP 3 :THE MISSED HIT
Robocop 3, what can I say?!:) I love this movie! It is a truly great sequel, much better than Robocop 2, which though I enjoyed, it does not compare with Robocop 3. What I like about this movie, was that the violence was toned down somewhat, the makers of these movies must have realised Robocop had a huge fan base of under 16's.
Robert Burke steps into Peter Weller's shoes, and does a fantastic job. He brings empathy to the character, and retains Robocop's movements to perfection. Nancy Allen also returns in her role one last time, as Lewis.
Something weird happened when this movie was released here in the UK on video in 1994. Some smart person had the idea of releasing the feature length pilot of Robocop: The series on video at the very same time as Robocop 3. It caused national confusion, resulting in the Robocop :The series rental profits to soar, and Robocop 3's to plummet.
Whatever your view on the Robocop series, Robocop 3 is a well made and enjoyable sequel. Packed with special effects, and a great story. So rent it or buy it, but don't let this little gem pass by.
hopeless
i really can not say alot because it is the only robocop that i could not watch for more than five minutes. holeless, completely hopeless
