Most of the original characters--plus a few new ones--return in Hunchback Of Notre Dame II. Esmeralda (Demi Moore) and Phoebus (Kevin Kline) now have a son named Zephyr (Haley Joel Osment), with whom Quasi (Tom Hulce) has become friends. When the circus comes to town, the hunchback becomes enchanted by magician's assistant, Madellaine (Jennifer Love Hewitt), but the vain Sarousch (Michael McKean) is also a thief with an eye for the cathedral's jewelled bell. He forces Madellaine to woo Quasi while he carries out the theft. Will he get away with it? Will Madellaine learn to see the inner Quasi? And will Quasi be able to trust again when he learns of her deception? Songs and humorous hijinks from the gargoyles, such as Jason Alexander's Hugo, illustrate the lesson that--as in the first feature--you can't judge a book by its cover. Synopsis
A sequel to Disney's 1996 hit, this second installment of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME finds the all-star lineup of voice actors (Tom Hulce, Kevin Kline, Jason Alexander, Demi Moore) augmented by two newcomers: Jennifer Love Hewitt and Haley Joel Osment. Here, Quasi remains the protector of Notre Dame's storied bells, and now rings them with the help of Zephyr (Osment), Esmerelda's and Phoebus's young son. Love strikes Quasi once again when he sees the beautiful Madellaine (Hewitt) at a traveling circus, working as an assistant to Sarousch, an evil magician. Unfortunately, Sarousch has hatched a plan to steal Notre Dame's most famous bell, and is forcing Madellaine to be his accomplice, forcing Quasi to think the worst about her. However, with the help of his gargoyle friends, Quasi attempts to foil Sarousch's plan and discover who Madellaine really is.

Not as good as 'hunchback 1'
Like most of the recent round of disney sequels this one is not half as good as the original. It is not as witty and charming, and the animation is much less sophisticated. But my 3 year old loves it as much as the first one and the songs are very sing-a-longable.

Ugh...just, ugh...
No words can describe this abomination of a "sequel" to the original, brilliant Hunchback of Notre Dame. Hell I can't believe most of the original cast even signed up for this thing! The animation is horrid, the story is ridiculous, the songs are forgettable and the new villain is...ugh, REALLY boring compared to Frollo! I don't like Madeleine much either.

I think only young kids will like this one. Adults and older kids (like myself?) ...Not so much. I recommend you stay away from this. Far away.

My daughter loves the first one - although its not as good in my opinion as the first she is over the moon with this one as well. Well worth the money for a few hours peace!
