It pains me to admit this...
It pains me to admit this as I LOVE all of Magnus Mills' novels, but this just didn't live up to my expectations. It's not that the writing is bad exactly, but I didn't feel remotely satisfied after reading.

At first I thought his economical, creeping style perhaps didn't work with short stories, but now I think there just aren't enough of them: it's really not worth the full price of a book for what is essentially a leaflet.

Once in a Blue Moon
Fans of Magnus Mills would enjoy this short collection of stories. Mills writes in simple, understated prose and has become famous for his dead-pan style that contains dry, dark humour.

Weird but great
People are very strange, and by putting them in strange yet almost familiar environments Mills brings out our inherent strangeness beautifully.
