Very sad, traumatising but useful subject
I bought this book because I work for an LEA and I was so sad to hear about the amount of kids that go through horrendous torment at school where they're supposed to be safe. I was also getting tired of hearing excuses made by people in authority about why nothing is done to prevent or stop this abuse happening.

But Im saddened to say that I wasn't brave enough to finish it, I only managed to read a quater of it before I had to admit defeat. In fact I spent a good hour sobbing and had to be consoled by my partner who has now banned me from continuing with it.

It's an extremely tragic read but what I liked about it was that it didn't make excuses for bullies or the schools that refused to take positive action to address it. It gave a frank, no rubbish explanation as to why bullies continually get protected and go unpunished for their actions and why schools are embarrassed to admit that it exists in their schools. I think it's high time we stopped tip toeing around the subject and addressed the fact that bullies have problems that need to be addressed so they don't continue to relent their problems on others and the owness shouldn't be on the victim or their family to sort these issues out.

If you can continue to read this book without trauma you're a braver person than I! It is definitely a MUST read for schools, LEA's, Social Workers and parents.

Not Much Advice, Just Stark Facts
I bought this book thinking it would be a really useful tool for ensuring my children are not bullied when they start school... how wrong I was! It is a very dark book, consisting almost entirely of stories of children who were bullied and committed suicide: a very sad, bleak investigation into a depressing subject. I'm afraid to say I read it and re-sold it.
