Not so Low Fat...2
I was somewhat disappointed with this purchase. Since this book purports to have 400 recipes that are "Fat Free or Low Fat" I was surprised to find, for example, a dessert recipe containing 422Kcals per portion with 18.5g fat of which 2.32g was saturated fat. If combined with the Mexican Beef Burger recipe (at 563Kcals per portion with 18.82g fat of which 5.55g was saturated fat) you could hardly describe that as a "Fat Free or Low Fat" meal.

I had purchased two copies of this book as gifts for a couple of my Weight Management clients. Both were disappointed with the recipes it contained and one actually returned it to me unused.

Good introduction with guidelines on Fat-Free Cooking Methods. Beautiful pictures, easy step-by-step instructions, but shame that it does not live up to it's title. Come on folks - surely it was not that difficult to find 400 appropriate recipes. Try reducing the number of recipes but ensure they ARE ALL Fat-Free or Low Fat.

I bought the first edition of this book years ago, my husband had high cholestrol and diabetes, using these recipes I keep his cholestrol under control, and it also helps with the diabetes. My brother was recently diagnosed with high cholestrol, my sister-in-law borrowed my book, and his cholestrol came down, at the moment he does not have to go on medication. My sister-in-law liked my book so much I bought this edition for her birthday.
I recommend this book very highly.
