Now compatible with all full sized dock connector iPods, including the very newest ones, the new iTrip follows in the tradition of Griffin's iTrip line, with superior performance and innovative features that make the iTrip the most popular iPod FM transmitter in the world. The large, easy to read backlit LCD screen makes setting its digital tuner easy and intuitive. A convenient switch on the side of the iTrip makes it a breeze to select broadcast frequency. But you won't have to adjust the settings very often - iTrip remembers its settings for convenience. The compact, self-contained design makes controlling iTrip a snap, perfect for use in autos. One of iTrip's innovative new features (something not found on any other FM transmitter) is selectable LX or DX modes of broadcasting, which allow you to adjust for the absolute best possible audio under real-world conditions. Even in large cities with lots of radio stations crowding the dial, iTrip's DX Mode delivers a background noise level below that of a cassette tape adapter, allowing the music to punch through cleanly. The results are stunning.Another innovative feature gives you the ability to set the iTrip to either US or International tuning modes. International mode allows access to all available frequencies throughout the world. US mode limits tuning to those frequencies relevant to US stations. The result: no unnecessary scrolling through channels.iTrip requires no batteries, drawing its power directly from the iPod, so there's never a power issue to silence your tunes.

What I've been waiting for!!!
This is a great product! I have bought a FM Car Transmitter before and I got rid of it after a few weeks because the batteries would go dead after a week and I couldn't get a clear enough reception for my iPod songs.
This iTrip is fantastic. It doesn't need batteries as it powers itself up directly from the iPod. It connects firmly and neatly into the charging socket of your iPod and there are no annoying loose wires.
Best of all, the reception on the car radio is excellent -unless you turn your radio up very loud, there is no static and the words/music of songs are as clear as a CD or a national radio station. Be warned, though ... you need to find an FM frequency that is 99% static with no faint radio station in the background. Even a frequency with a weak, distorted radio station in the background will affect the quality of your iPod songs on the radio - and although it is bearable, it does begin to grate after a while.
The iTrip is very easy to use as well. There is only one thing you need to operate to work it and that's the dial on the side. Up and down to match the frequency on the iTrip to the one on your car radio - and then press the dial inwards for it to keep that frequency in its memory.
If like me, you have been itching to listen to your iPod in the car for ages, then buy this product ... just make sure you find that perfect FM frequency.
A Great Product with iPod Recharging Facility
This is a great product, well designed, easy to setup and with a clear display (but don't forget to take the protective sticker off the front otherwise you'll be seeing double!). Powered by the iPod it switches on immediately it's needed and the control at the side to select the frequency & LX or DX mode is easy to use, probably even with not so nimble fingers. But do make sure the car's not moving when you do all this. An added feature which I wasn't expecting is the mini USB port in the base of the iTrip to which you can attach a suitable in car charger. The one that came from Amazon with my Tom Tom One works a treat and there is also a suitable attachment with my Power Monkey if the TomTom is in use, so there is no risk of the iPod's battery discharging. The product itself is worthy of 5 stars & the only reason that I have not awarded 5 is that I cannot get that crystal clear CD quality. The signal varies between adequate to very good - not a problem to me as I only usually listen to the spoken word not music, so that doesn't really affect my enjoyment. However discerning music lovers may find the quality of the signal a little frustrating or they may be lucky just enough to get a perfect one.
Great price, but can suffer from interference...
I've had one for 2 months now and it's a decent bit of kit. For £6 it's great value but if your car has excellent radio pick-up, like my Focus, you may find that you experience some occasional interference.
The sound quality is pretty good but don't expect miracles. A great and cheap solution to using your iPod in the car, but I personally prefer the more expensive version that plugs into your cigarette lighter and charges your iPod while you drive - the sound quality is better and I've never experienced any interference problems.
Shame, but it is cheap!
