Saitek, long known for its PC gaming devices, has jumped into the portable-speaker market with the Saitek A-200. A 2.1-channel portable speaker, it sounds good for its size and is easy to set up and operate. It's unusual design makes it look unique and is highly portable. The A-200's only has buttons for volume control, but for good reason. Tone adjustment should be done on your audio device, which the A-200 connects to via 35mm headphone jack. To turn on the speaker, you press the top. The A-200 expands to form a cavity that's ported out to the side, adding about 3/4 of an inch to the overall height. Saitek calls this the EAVS (Expanded Air Volume System), a design that provides a resonating chamber for the bass to make it sound fuller. When you're done using it, simply press the top back down. The A-200 turns off, and reverts back to low profile form. The system can be powered by an AC adapter or a set of AAA batteries for up to 24 hours of playtime. Easy to use and with good sound quality, the Saitek A-200 Portable Speaker makes a great traveling companion for any music lover.

    damn good speakers5
    i saw these speakers after scanning through ones which were compatible with a non-ipod mp3 player, which isn't many these days. The looks really made it standout, and it really does look that impressive in real life. The sound quality is amazing for speakers that size and you can crank it up to quite a high volume. many speakers at the cheaper end of the spectrum can be very tinny and have an almost complete abscence of bass about them, but although in the picture it look like there's just two tiny speakers there's a meaty bass underneath.

    It took me a while to figure out how to get it on, i didn't realise that you have to push down quite hard on the bass booster in the middle and then let it smoothly rise up to turn it on, but it almost becomes a pleasure to do it as it is soo smooth.

    looks good, sounds nice, doesn't bankrupt you...why not get one?

    Over the years I have gone through a number of portable speaker systems. Inc. Sony & Creative.
    But none ever seemed to be quite up to the job.

    Finally with these I've found the balance between portability and
    sound quality. (Basically small enough to put in hand luggage
    and with enough low end for them not to sound too tinny.)

    The only minor gripe is that there is no play through-facility:
    The speakers must be powered up to get any sound.

    After some careful reasearch into the type of portable speakers i was looking for i decided on this product. The sound quality is excellent, the music on my MP3 is in no way compromised. a lot of thought has gone into this little speaker which i would not under estimate either on sound quality or looks. All the pictures i have seen of this product does no justice to it,for when i took it out of the box i was not disappointed, you would think this speaker cost a lot more than its true price, this review is written from a person who has a high standard, if this product was not as good as i have found i would send it back.
