Full of mistakes2
I purchased this book because I am currently studying ITEC aromatherapy. It was suggested that we bought the book, as the massage routine we follow is the one in the book, and it comes complete with a DVD.

The book has several mistakes, including the routine itself. This makes it extremely complicated while trying to follow the diagrams in the book, which do not match up with the enclosed DVD. It would seem that the publishers (EMS Publishing) have made a printing error, and duplicated some of the moves. As a previous reviewer commented, there are also other mistakes with Latin names etc.

The routine itself as described in the book is not ideal, and I would personally change a few things.

ITEC have listed this on their recommended reading list. It would appear that the only books they recommend are published by EMS Publishing. The director of ITEC (Jane Foulston) has edited An Introductory Guide to Massage by Louise Tucker, so i'm guessing that's why the books are suggested reading material by ITEC.

I wouldn't rate the books as being very good at all. There are far better books on the market.

If you want to learn the basics, I guess it's ok, as it doesn't go into anything in great detail.

I have only purchased the book as it was strongly suggested that to pass the ITEC exam, that you should buy it. It has left me with a slightly sour taste in my mouth, that an examining body seems to have such a hold over the literature that students read.

Very good book for students of aromatherapy. Nice pictures and good information.5
The delivery was fast and the book is very nice. No major problems with delivery.

A good study book4
I am training to be an Aromatherapist and this is the course book.
It covers a lot of subjects, and maybe too many, as it never becomes specific, but however covers the subjects well.
A few mistakes in it in e.g. Latin names, which is a pity and a bit annoying when trying to learn.
It is a good all round book, but not as the only book, if you want detailed and wide knowledge of aromatherapy.
A good start.
