Customer Reviews

Wanna be "Tagger"??....Read this book first!!5
Real stories about "REAL" grafitti artists. It could not have been done better! The author, Graig Castleman writes about one of the most respected artists of them all, Lee. Lee's Graffiti years were awsome. The book is great to help the public truly understand the term "Street Art" Any book that can make my own parents believe in my own Graffiti gets 5 stars!

If you wanna get up , you've gotta get down with this book.5
This book is a must for all the graf headz out there.Amazing interview with "LEE" from the fabulous 5. It's all good ! .

Useful as an introduction.3
Castleman gives a good historical introduction to graffiti and it's beginnings, his interviews are with the main writers of the time, such as Lee, and so this is a strong review of how it all started. It is the main text referenced in sociological writing about graffiti, but does not contain much sociological analysis itself. It was an interesting read, but obviously the graffiti scene has changed a lot since it was written! I would recommend it as a starting point for study, or just a read if your interested in the origins of graffiti culture.
