Great book, however you may want to get the more "advanced".
This book is, as all Lee Hammond books I own, a great one. It greatly helps to realistically depict people. However, I would recommend getting "How to draw lifelike portraits from photographs" instead, as it has about the same content, just more advanced. The price is higher too, but in my opinion it's definitly worth it. If english isn't your first language, don't worry, Lee Hammond's book are understandable written, and yet she doesn't write to you as if you were an idiot.

Great Book - Buy it
Like a lot of people I have had the ambition to draw and sketch accurately. This book shows you how. It took mw upto a standard I am very pleased with and I fully intend to buy other books from this artist to progress further. Excellent and highly recommended. Buy yourself a copy and you will be surprised how you CAN draw.

fabolous book for blended potraits ..not for line potraits
If you are looking for your potraits to look realistic but blended i.e potraits not based on sketch lines than this bbok is great.
its simple and easy to follow within a few weeks your potraits will look great! and its a decent price.
