Editorial Reviews
Review
What is Wrong with Being Black? declares the truth not often presented accurately in our current history books. Therefore, I strongly believe that this project should be, and will be, a required read for High school and College campuses around the country. I applaud you for your apparent interest in this subject. However, I encourage you to not let it stop with you. This project should not just be read, but studied. Encourage your circle of family and friends to also read it and then schedule a discussion group so that you can further grapple with what you have learned. Also, it is important that you recognize how critical the information shared in this book is for our younger generations. What is Wrong with Being Black? should be shared with our youth in order to ensure that they are educated on their history and encouraged about their future. --Bishop Eddie L Long. Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church
I commend Pastor Matthew for writing this seminal book that not only celebrates the past achievements of people of colour, but also provides an in-depth exposition of the so-called pathologies and conformations that afflict the present generation of blacks around the world. It provides some solutions and a lot of hope for the future. I heartily recommend this book to all, and especially to politicians, business leaders and academics those who have a key role to play in effecting change --General Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Customer Reviews
Great Compilation...
I will try to be intelligible as I can! My snapshot review is that this boo is
1. A great research attempt
2. Inevitably had plenty of preaching within it (the writer is supposed to be a church minister)
3. Little qualification to reveal areas of possible further research like every good seminal work should have. This might be a pathology('sickness') itself as the whole world of 'religion' pre supposes that the set man(the preacher) is a divine oracle with an unquestionable message!
4.I believe every reader (especially the committed christian) should take this work as a contribution to seminal works in this field and not in anyway a 'finished' work. My grouse is the work comes off with a feel good factor that blurs the critical mind. Its more like acceptance! When Karl Marx argues that Religion is the opium of the people, he has an argument!
5. Summary-The black is cursed cos of ancestral idolatry, slavery, colonialism and our fractious nature are resultant factors of the curse. He hands us a great compilation of the matchless wickedness of RASCISM against the black man.
6.I hate the conclusion of every black man becoming a christian to the extent that it prevents us again from detailed, intelligent, all inclusive actionable plan to give our kids a future!
Constructive Gift
This was originally bought as a gift for a teenager (and a copy will be purchased for myself). Although a review cannot be provided yet - I was drawn to the book because it promises to enlighten the reader with a fusion of spiritual awakening, cultural identity and pride.
A Great Enlightment about the Man of Colour
obviously, the reader above is such who can see no further in the misconceptions spread over the times about the black man and obviously finds it hard to clearly understand the basic concept of the being and complexity of the black man as a whole and anything that changes his view is too much to handle and quickly tagged "religion".
i personally recommend this book and commend its author for taking the time to bring to our attention so many things our so called traditional history books have ommited and neglected which is what the future generation of all races needs to know inorder to make a better impact as a community as compared to the nagetive vibes associated with the man of colour.it worth reading and keeping as a good reference....................for the mind that seeks enlightment.
