A superb audio feast5
This music is full of energy and life, Kodo are exploring the limitless possibilities of the traditional Japanese drum, the taiko. Kodo are forging new directions for a vibrant living art-form.

In Japanese the word "Kodo" conveys two meanings: Firstly, "heartbeat" the primal source of all rhythm. The sound of the great taiko is said to resemble a mother's heartbeat as felt in the womb.

My favourite tracks are Zoku, Ibuki, Shake, Miyake, and Kyosui. All the tracks are good.

Of course Kodo are at their best live, I saw them live yesterday in Manchester and they were totally amazing. Buy this CD.
