Manufacturer's Description
The call of duty needs answering once again, as the blockbusting first person shooter series returns to the modern day. A direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, you now play new character Sgt Gary "Roach" Sanderson. Your commander is "Soap" from the first game as you join a multinational anti-terrorist squad out to stop Russian ultra nationalists.

Watch your squad grow from inexperienced rookies to veteran warriors
A snowmobile race is just one of the new vehicle sections
Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4
You'll journey all around the world in the fight against terrorism

The story mode features an even more varied series of locales than before, including a snowbound mission that starts with a daredevil mountain climb and ends with a high speed snowmobile chase as you make your escape. With other levels set in Afghanistan, Rio de Janeiro and even underwater this has more action than a dozen Hollywood blockbusters.

But that's just the single player mode - the multiplayer is even more ground-breaking than before, with new co-op options and even more rewards and perks for competitive play.

Modern Warfare 24
OK. After buying this product ICall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360) have finally completed my evaluation of MW2. The graphics are phenomenal showing infinity wards efforts to create a game to blow you out of the water. Also the game play in the campain is astronomically strong, the contrast between environments puts forth the power and metal strength needed to survive on the battle field. The overall inpact this game will have on you is breathtaking, and totally lives up to COD4s storyline and plot. I would give this 10/10 for graphics and suspense created by the Campain.

Now for the main part, the multi player. MW2 has a lot to live up to, after COD4s fast action multi player hit the world and left it in awe. I do love some of the features they have added like the perks, guns, most attachments, game modes and killstreaks. But i feel they have gone one step to far. Many players of the Call of Duty series enjoy strategical fast action scenarios. But infinity ward has fallen prey to the overconfident and commercial values of our modern day consumer needs. Basically it's to "noob" friendly. It's to easy to kill, therefore to easy to die and ends up leaving you feeling cheated.

Overall I give this game a 8.5/10. The extraordinary graphics, attention to detail and realism makes this game immense. But the "wish" made by infinity ward to suit to all audiences has left this game "soulless" and commercialised.

I would still recommend this game. But be wary its not a true replacement to Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare.

If you wish to buy this game, and you are a die hard Call of duty rusher. You will have to adjust. So be aware, your game play will change dramatically.

Modern Gaming!5
A great sequel to Modern Warfare, the Campaign (single player mode) has an exciting storyline, more weapons (predator drones, heat sensitive scopes), more support from colleagues in the field of play and a great balance in terms of out and out destruction and hide and seek combat. The controversial part of the game that everyone is that in one of the early scenes you play an undercover operative that has infiltrated a terrorist group and are party to killing civilians and police in an airport. The important part of that last sentence is GAME, its not real, but if you feel that you might become a terrorist or want to start killing civilians after playing this then its probably not for you and you might need some therapy. The enjoyment I got from the single player mode was immense, like the previous version you switch between a US Ranger and a British SAS commando. Coming back to complete the game on higher difficulties adds to the longevity. The multi-player part of the game is awesome, the only bugs are trying to join a game can sometimes be difficult and that the game doesn't let you conduct an Xbox party when playing Xbox live. This is frustrating when you have a group of friends trying to sort out a strategy and some 8 year old is raping your ears with all kinds of spurious dirge. There is an all new feature as well in the game called Special Ops. In this mode you are given a set task to complete (such as killing 40 enemies while protecting a base) with 3 levels of difficulty which are rewarded with stars.
To sum it up, there nothing particularly different here - its pretty much been done before in COD4 but what they do have is a very solid game that's incredibly enjoyable and well worth the purchase.

Best game ever?5
Having been waiting for this game ever since i saw it online to pre-order back in february, i've been wanting to get my hands on it, and it was definitely worth the wait.

Single Player: The campaign has numerous levels with a great storyline that will have you addicted until you complete it. Snow missions, driving boats, it is quite literaly the sickest campaign you will ever play.

Multi Player: online game play is great. seems to be good connections most of the time, and it will just change within the same game if the host is poor. The graphics are superb throughout the game with slick reloads, awsome looking guns, and air support like no other game. the Playlist of game types is similair with a few new ones, but they've always been good so there was no reason to change. maps are great, with a large array of different environments from snowy railways to a favela in rio. over all, the online is very addictive and with many new guns and new aspects of gameplay such as customizable kill streak rewards, wih the option of shorter rewards such as predator missiles from a 5 killstreak, or you're feeling lucky and go for a tactical nuke needing a 25 killstreak but wiping out the whole team. it will keep you hooked for days.

Special Ops: the special ops section is a seperate set of mission that can be done split screen with two people, online with two people, or you can try it alone, on the usual selection of dificulties. they are quite fun and a challenge on things such as snowmoblie races!

to sum up i would recomend this to any 360 owner, it will most likely be a game you will spend a lot of time on, either rinsing it up on veteran campaign, or destroying some anoyying kids online with your mates.

A definite buy
