Customer Reviews

Mainly for Saw fans!4
First point: this game is better than I thought it woudl be.

As a big fan of the Saw films this was a must buy - and it links in well with the theme of the films.

I wasn't disappointed - although the gameplay and graphic quality is not quite as good as some of the top titles, this does well in creating an atmosphere and feeling of doom and gllom!

Puzzles are not too tricky - and I'm making good progress. Thers are a better variety of puzzles than I expected.

Plenty of jump out of your skin moments ..... and lots of re-incarnations!

For Saw fans - get it, for pure gamers - rent it, for parents of children - keep them away from it (it is unpleasant like the film series - and could cause nightmares!)

A 18 rating is, in my opinion, is the correct rating.

In a sick way - it's good fun - and a good tie-in.

Nice concept....3
I'm a fan of both the Saw films (the first couple anyway) and of horror survival games.
Konami used to be my favorite developers, but they went their separate ways after Silent Hill 4, and it shows.
Anyway, back to the game. I started playing it less than a week ago, and completed it last night. That's an extremely short playing time! Not exactly challenging.... nor value for money.
The plot is what you'd expect from Saw, a series of "tests" set for detective Tapp from Jigsaw. You have to solve puzzles and make your way through many traps along the way to face your ultimate choice.
The graphics are nice, atmosphere and tension. As I said, the plot is acceptable. The three main things that let this game down are - 1 - The game play time - just awful! no value for money at all!!
2- The combat system - really dreadful and SO frustrating!
and 3 - Repetitive puzzles.
All in all, a good concept badly brought to life.

This is a game I'd most definitely recommend you rent for a week (much cheaper, and you'll complete it by then anyway!)

Do you want to play a game?.....
(then rent it!)

Finally a game where you genuinely feel like you are a part of the chaos!!4
When i heard that saw was going to be made into a game, i wasn't that optimistic however i am pleasantly surprised. To be honest i have only been playing it for a few hours, but this is my opinion so far :

The graphics are pretty decent not as crisp as some games out there, but the detail is good don't get me wrong. Tobin Bell contributing using his voice as jig saw is great creepy yet relaxing? very odd. The puzzles are fairly easy, although as mentioned i'm not that far into the game yet, some are a little on the tricky side. The game takes places in a asylum which is big lots of places to explore, door to unlock (lock picking), doors rigged with shot guns, trip wires to dis-arm,release victims from traps, inmates/victims some of which will fight with you, whilst other will not. For me the one let down with the game is fighting very sluggish and unresponsive you can use weapons (lots to pick up) but i find fighting bare hand is easier and quicker.
The game is quite gruesome you see victims in traps, heads exploding etc... but for me personally its not scary, more suspense.

For a first attempt i'd give the game about 8/10, for saw fans its a defo (you find out about what happened to the characters from the first saw film - i've not found out yet)like wise for people who like to play jumpy games.
