To the moon and around the world
I teach in a multicultural school in Manchester. I was delighted to discover this fantastic book of assembly stories.
The stories captivated the children at my school. In each of the stories the children made a real connection with the characters.
The lay out of the material is excellent. Each story is about the right length for an assembly and the themes and prayers work well on all levels.
Having some stories linked to certain faith events is also a bonus. I was pleased to have other ways of approaching Christmas, Eid, Diwali etc.
The illustrations are ideal for photocopying on to an overhead to have on the screen for the children.
All in all a great find for a busy deputy headteacher.

School Assemblies
I was given this book to use in school.
I found the stories to be very suitable for the children in my school.
I like the range of cultures explored in the stories.
Also the themes such as honesty, telling the truth, trusting your instinct etc. are ideal for for discussion in R.E.
The drawings are simple but very appealing.
I will look out for more assembly books from this publisher/ author.
Inspiring
Tim Hughes' writing is nothing short of inspirational, you can see it runs in the family just by reading this book. I think we could all learn something from this book. Using many of the same writing devices as the Lord of the Rings it is a great read and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. Go Tim!!!
