Product Description

Many of the cars featured in the legendary Victory By Design series were strictly built for racing and were never seen in commercial showrooms. This DVD has plenty of rarities and is available in PAL format for a strictly limited time only. Here's a car that's got it all, the looks, the sound, and boy, did this car deliver on the track! These are the words that Alain de Cadenet shouts from the wheel of a DBR1 as he powers through a dusty mountain pass as though racing the Targa Florio in the late 1950s. Like others in the Victory by Design series, the Aston Martin show is a must for those who love the marque. Featuring the milestone cars that helped make Aston Martin such a charismatic name on the race tracks of the world, from the early cars of Lionel Martin, through to the present day.

Editorial Reviews

Review
The gorgeous machines parading before the cameras in the series of six DVD's called ''Victory by Design'' are well beyond the means of almost everyone in the intended audience. Offering histories of six famous marques (Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo and Maserati), the producers have collected dozens of precious racecars that would inspire techno-lust in any Sunday driver. But perhaps because the series originated in Britain, it is voyeurism on a transcendent plane, with a racing purist's emphasis on technical innovation and track performance. But one special feature of these DVD's, elevating them above the many books and magazines on exotic cars, is the sound quality. As any racing fan knows, the ear-splitting noise of the track holds as much appeal as the flash of engineered metal past the grandstand. With Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS Surround Sound, you can adjust your speakers to pick up the bass rumble of an Aston Martin AMR1 and or the alto whine of the V-12 engines that are the voice-print of a Ferrari.
