Review
64 pages of designs worked in wire-just as the title suggests-and almost all jewellery. In common with other Search Press titles, this book is about producing something rather than an exposition of the theory, so that there are only two sides devoted to the actual techniques of knitting with wire and another two on knitting with wire generally. There are colourful bracelets, brooches, necklets and flowers with talismans and a small bag too. A bonus is a page on avoiding shoulder and eye problems when immersed in knitting for too long and a reminder that hunching up even affects breathing. --SlipKnot No 117, Sept 2007
Knitting with wire really isn't as difficult or as scratchy as it sounds! Wire Knits will inspire you to put down your yarns and try something a little different. This fascinating book is crammed with intriguing ideas. It contains 26 unique projects, plus Heather Kingsley-Heath's experiences and tips. Find out how to choose the best wire then delve in and have a go. If you're new to knitting with wire, get started with a simple plain-knitted bangle then build up to eye-catching layered tubes and braids. Easy-to-follow instructions nestle alongside handy making-up advice, making this a must-read for knitters everywhere. --Simply Knitting, Jan 08
At first glance am exciting approach to beading with wire and it didn't disappoint. Shapes covered went from basic oblongs to pointed and tubular to be filled with something to keep them open and by the way add another dimension. I particularly liked the ruffle idea. The instructions are clear and diagrams and pictures give extra information. A more comprehensive list of wire gauge comparison would have been helpful. --Bead Society of Great Britain, Winter 07

Get wired
This is a great little book that packs a lot of information! There are instructions on how to knit with wire, then projects from beaded bracelets and collars, to knitted wire flowers and leaves. It gives some basics that you can use to develop your own ideas from. Some of the items are a bit old fashioned, but could fit in with the latest retro craze, such as fifties clothes, I would think.
Quite good, but a little disappointing
There were some useful techniques explained, but the items themselves were a little but 'samey'. A good introduction to the basics, but not wildly exciting. Lacked the 'wow' factor
Disappointing
I ordered this book because it was one of the few titles available on knitting with wire.
The author is passionate about the subject and the texts are well written.
Unfortunately, she gives poor information on the techniques for knitting with this particular material, the book is just a collection of some projects, with no visual reference on how to realize them.
I was also really disappointed to receive a book with a low resolution picture on the front cover!
