Kate Pullen is a trained metalsmith of many years. Following a period of rekindled interest in using and producing textiles, Kate saw an opportunity to combine the discipline with her interest in jewellery. Kate currently lives in Extremadura, Spain. She was born in Weymouth and lived in rural Northumbria, near Haltwhistle before she moved to Spain.

inspirational designs
A friend gave me a copy of this book and it's absolutely fantastic. The designs are interesting and the author gives you loads of ideas for how each one can be adapted to make it your own. I've been knitting and crocheting for years and was looking for some new inspiration - this book has done that.

Beautiful book with modern designs that are amazingly simple to make! I am really pleased with the book and would recommend it.

could have had more variety
I bought this book after I became interested in making jewellery and I received it through the post today. I read through the projects and it does have a good approach to crocheting and knitting with wire. However I was a bit dissapointed that there were slightly more knitted projects than crocheted ones. Another problem was that the amount of crocheted projects decreased as the difficulty level increased. Another point was that as the difficulty levels increased, the wearability of the items definately decreased (crowns and tiaras)

That being said, I can't wait to get some materials and make a start on these projects. Another good point to the book is that it encourages the reader to step away from the instructions in the text and to experiment a bit to make different things (e.g. a necklace using the pattern for a pair of earrings)
