DVD Description

The A Touch of Frost – Series 11 And 12 DVD contains all three episodes--"Another Life", "Dancing in the Dark" and "A Near Death Experience"--from the eleventh and twelfth series of this cops and crime drama. David Jason stars in the lead role of Detective Inspector Jack Frost, and is joined by Bruce Alexander, who plays the incredibly officious Superintendent Norman Mullett. Each episode contains at least two plots related to violence and/or murder, however there is not a lot of graphic violence; Frost's pursuit of the ladies is also a fairly regular sub-plot in these series. The show is set in Denton and also stars Blake Ritson (as DC Robert Presley, aka Frost's sidekick), and John Lyons (DS Toolan, another colleague).

Synopsis

A widowed, cranky work-addict, Frost is constantly under pressure to meet targets and keep bosses in the division off his back, particularly Superintendent Norman Mullett, who is fastidious when it comes to doing things 'by-the-book'. Mullet (nicknamed "Horn-rimmed Harry" by Frost) is obsessed by following rigid policies, while Frost prefers to let himself be guided by his innate copper instinct. Mullet abhors Frost for his regular habit of breaking the rules--like when he searches suspects' homes without a warrant--and becoming emotionally involved in cases. There isn't a whole lot he can do about it though, as Frost earned the respect of the Chief Constable when he received the George Cross for Bravery. The constant run-ins between the two do provide for some comic moments though.

Customer Reviews

Excellent series, but not compatible with DVD player5
This DVD complements the excellent series A Touch of Frost. For the real fan of this series (or simply for anyone looking for the best British crime series), these DVD's are a real must have.

I have seen these latest episodes on television, but not on DVD. Although these DVD's work fine with built-in DVD players in computers my regular stand-alone DVD player hangs itself after 10 seconds. The same was true for the replacement copy I received. Be that as it may, Amazon handled my complaint very fine.

Frost5
The Episodes in this set are brilliant. How much can u say 'Sir' David Jason Continues to be frost and in these you can see why he is a top actor.

in Cape Town video stores only have series 1 - 6. Very sad. So I ordered 7 - 14 from Amazon. It was brilliant. It is a with great sorrow that there is no 15 + 's. Love it.
