DVD Description

A Touch Of Frost - Endangered Species is one of the later episodes in this award winning cops and crime drama series. The show is based on the novels by R. D. Wingfield, and David Jason stars in the lead role of gruff and tough Detective Inspector Jack Frost. He is joined by Bruce Alexander (who plays the incredibly officious Superintendent Norman Mullett), Blake Ritson (as DC Robert Presley, Frost's sidekick), and John Lyons (DS Toolan, another colleague). Set in a fictitious and dreary town called Denton, "A Touch of Frost" contains a good dose of humour. Each episode features plots related to violence and/or murder, and Frost's pursuit of the ladies is another fairly regular sub-plot in the show.

Synopsis

In A Touch Of Frost - Endangered Species, Frost finds himself investigating one murder mystery, while he simultaneously becomes tangled up in the inquiry into another. He also exposes a group of criminals who have been importing endangered species illegally, which leaves him little time to pursue his most recent love interest.

Very disappointing episode3
Like the other reviewer I noticed that this episode came with my 6-12 box set and was pleasantly surprised. However the episode itself is pretty poor because it is too unbelievable and the two stories don't seem to connect very well.
In this episode we see Jack trying to crack down on a gang who are illegally importing endangered species and other animals. Jack starts off indifferent to the plight of the animals but after reading a government handout becomes quite the advocate animal rites ticking Mullet off for an ivory hammer which happens to conveniently be there on his desk. Of course its good to be against cruelty to animals but the whole thing was a little bit preachy and unbelievable. The most laughable scene was where the aging Jack fights off a tiger with a broom while the owner, supposedly more experienced with animals, cowers in terror.
Add to that the side story of a naked artist turning up dead on the bed of a seemingly unconnected couple when they arrive home from holiday; and an art teacher having her wicked way with a school boy, it just doesn't even nearly measure up to the best of Frost episodes.

DVD TOUCH OF FROST5
I had been looking ages for this DVD , then found out UK version had been incorrectly labelled as series 12 instead of series 13. Now this completes my collection and I am very happy with delivery service also. Well done Amazon A Touch Of Frost - Endangered Species [DVD] [2002]
