Expresses Law of Attraction in Simple Terms4
The Law of Attraction is expressed in the simplest terms in this book which is an ongoing dialog between Abraham, a channeled guide, and the author, Jerry Hicks. Abraham speaks through Esther Hicks with simple teachings.

The Law of Attraction is described as "like attracting like." So the frequency of your thoughts whether positive or negative attract more of the same vibration to you. By becoming conscious of our thoughts and our beliefs, which are repeating thought patterns, we can gain mastery over our lives. So we are attracting the essence of our thoughts in our lives.

This CD defines success in a unique way: Success can be measured by our achievements but the authors recommend that we measure it by the joy in our life as the standard of success. Material possessions or stuff in our life alone fails to bring joy instead joy brings the highest value on its own not our collection of stuff. This is an important distinction.

Overall I would rate this as an good CD on personal empowerment. I would only caution people in not taking Law of Attraction to an extreme as their book does when it argues that a victim actually attracts the robber. This is basically blaming a victim. We need to instead focus on compassion for ourselves and others. If the Law of Attraction is used to justify attitudes that are non-compassionate then the Law may give some measure of success at a personal level yet it may fail in our responsibility as human beings. We need to grow in character and in our heart not just in our thoughts.

I also recommend "Nexus: A Neo Novel," which is an amazing journey of transformation. Logan Andrews a journalist living in California is devastated by a number of losses. He is drawn to a retreat intended to help people overcome pain where he finds many spiritual and psychological insights, yet he struggles within himself to overcome personal doubts and hopelessness. The book shows that even with understanding principles such as the law of attraction, we need to change our mental thoughts through life experiences before change can truly occur at a deeper level.

A remarkable, but heavy read.5
"The Secret" is a great book which has introduced the mass public to the beliefs held within the laws of attraction. In the book/ DVD a number of great believers are interviewed. Ester Hicks is probably one of the most respected on the subject. She speaks with kindness and wisdom about how the individual can utilise the powers within the ether, and within themselves to live a better life. The Law of Attraction is deep and comprehensive read, although at times it can get a bit heavy. Also look at the marvelous Dr Wayne DIER whose book 'You See it When you Believe it' which is complimentary to Ester Hicks book, which at times can jar because of its use of American phrasing and spelling.

'The ULTIMATE guide to Cosmic Ordering' by ANDRONICOU covers the same themes in a more direct manner that, as a Brit, is easier to read, absorb, and enjoy. Whilst the Hicks book suffers for its density it is a comprehensive read and should be put on your reading pile.

What you ask for, you will get. 5
This book teaches and reflects on one of the most powerful ideas from the Teachings of Abraham, that what you have in your life is what you have attracted to be a presence in your life. In other words, you create a way of life for yourself by your intentions. The teachings of Abraham are messages the authors, Esther and Jerry Hicks have received over a period of time and which they have transcribed for millions of readers to learn from and discover how to manifest a way of life for themselves they had only dreamt of previously.

I especially found the chapter "The Art of Allowing:Defined" to be insightful and useful in my day to day living in New York City. The idea that what I resist or not allow only produces more unwanted things is so true. For example I noticed the more I wanted a car horn to stop honking and the more attention I gave to it, the louder and more invasive the sound became. Once I relaxed and put my attention into how I was walking and my surroundings, the less loud the horn sounded and less invasive it became for me. Soon disappearing from overtaking my thoughts, even though it was still sounding. In other words, the more I allowed the honking of the horn, the less bothersome it became to me.

Two other books I highly recommend reading if you enjoyed "The Law of Attraction" are written by Ariel and Shya Kane and called "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: A Book About Instantaneous Transformation" and "Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment." The Kanes present a transformational approach to living which produces a meaningful and satisfying way of life. Both the Kane's and this book are insightful, practical and easy to follow guides for you to become the author of your own truly magnificent life.
