The agent Jojo, a high-flying literary agent on the up, has just made a very bad career move: she’s jumped into bed with her married boss Mark… The bestseller Jojo’s sweet-natured client Lily’s first novel is a roaring success. She and lover Anton celebrate by spending the advance for her second book. Then she gets writer’s block… The unknown Gemma used to be Lily’s best friend – until Lily ‘stole’ Anton. Now she’s writing her own story – painfully and hilariously – when supershark agent Jojo stumbles across it… When their fortunes become entangled, it seems too much to hope that they’ll all find a happy ending. But maybe they’ll each discover that there’s more than one side to every story…

Customer Reviews
Very enjoyable.
Being more of a crime/thriller book reader, I was recommended this book by a friend. Not really expecting to like it I was quite suprised that infact I thought it was near brilliant! It gives you a good insight into the authors world. One thing that did annoy me a little is that I found myself thinking "you just wouldn't do that in real life" but hey- It's a novel. Definitly buy this, it's a good read.
MUST BUY!
It was so long since i read a good book, and my friend recomended this. And i am so glad she did, seriously it made me remember why i love reading. could not put it down. it made me realise there are always two sides to a story. BUY THIS BOOK. im now trying to decide which of her books to read next. fook it, ill buy them all!
Witty & Hilarious & Insightful
Marian Keyes is above and beyond my favourite contemporary author. She thoroughly hits the spot. This book is especially insightful of the publishing industry. Almost every angle is covered, from author to publisher; the book takes you through all processes, from writer's block to inspiration, to why the editors would possibly overlook and reject a clever, deserving book. Reading about Jojo, Lily, and Gemma's careers was absolutely brilliant. In retrospect, the plot of their love lives is a tiny bit weak and makes the book too long for its own good. I wasn't complaining while I was reading, though, because I didn't want it to end! She's so good, so witty, so funny, it by far makes up for any weak plot lines.
